Department of Housing Western Australia – Electrical Safety Device Program

The WA Housing Authority utilized TechSafe Inspectors to perform electrical safety compliance inspections and confirm the regulatory compliance of electrical safety devices within community housing properties owned by the Housing Authority.

The project required the inspection of each properties electrical safety devices, namely the Residual Current Devices (RCD’s), smoke alarms and main earth. TechSafe was to ensure that the RCD’s, smoke alarms and main earth at each property were compliant with regulations, Wiring Rules – AS/NZS 3000 and the Building Code of Australia.

TechSafe Inspectors worked alongside licensed electricians who rectified any defects identified. TechSafe then re-inspected the work to ensure it was completed appropriately and that it was compliant.

At the completion of the project, the Department of Housing Program Manager commented that TechSafe had exceeded all expectations and demonstrated a willingness to “go the extra mile” which had contributed to the program success.
