Medical Equipment Inspection, Testing & Calibration
Patient treatment areas for all Doctors, Physiotherapists, Dentists, Chiropractors and Aged Care Facilities require specialised electrical work and stringent medical equipment testing, which is compliant against AS/NZS 3003. TechSafe has a number of licensed Medical Inspectors who can provide advice for electricians when working at these establishments, or the medical practitioners themselves wanting to confirm compliance.
It is also a requirement of Australian Standard AS/NZS 3003 that all patient treatment areas undergo medical equipment testing for electrical safety and compliance once every 12 months. If these areas are not compliant, you may be paying expensive insurance premiums for cover that may be declined when you need it.
Our Australian Standards now require ALL "Patient Areas" to be upgraded to Body-Protected Areas, or if necessary, upgraded to Cardiac-Protected Areas.
When it comes to electrical compliance at all "Patient Areas" such as medical and dental practices, TechSafe is considered as one of the leaders in the field. There are 26 defined Patient Areas that require regular inspections including:
- Doctors consulting room
- Chiropractic and physiotherapy treatment rooms
- Dental surgeries
- CT rooms
- Treatment rooms
- Ultrasound rooms
- Blood collection areas
- X-ray rooms
- Nursing homes
Many of our Inspectors have over 15 years experience and are licensed to inspect the electrical condition of medical and dental establishments throughout the country (Class M Inspectors).
Area classifications, residual current devices (RCD's), locations of outlets and even power points and power boards have specific requirements when it comes to medical establishments. Call us today for advice, assistance, or an inspection.
