TechSafe have an experienced team in place, successfully delivering a number of projects to our clients and partners. This team has specific knowledge and experience in electrical inspections, project & commercial management and operational delivery.

TechSafe is an associate member of the Institute of Electrical Inspectors and a number of our Inspectors sit on various Australian Standard Committees, including the Australian Wiring Rules EL001.

 

Managing Director - Ashley Haynes 

Ashley has over 15 years experience in the outsourcing and management of contracts in the Utilities sector. He has lead tender submissions, negotiated contracts and managed numerous large scale projects in his Executive and General Management roles over the past 15 years.

Ashley is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a qualified Lead Auditor who holds a wealth of industry experience. Prior to joining TechSafe, Ashley has held a range of management positions in high profile companies within the utilities sector. Ashley is also a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and the Institute of Electrical Inspectors Victoria.

Ashley is motivated by ensuring all areas of the business are achieving their operational and financial objectives while at the same time looking for areas to add value both within the business and for our Clients.

General Manager Technical Services - Ray Butt 

Ray has managed the Melbourne based Technical operations of TechSafe Australia for the past 15 years.
Ray has had more than 35 years’ experience in the electricity supply industry, including 30 years’ experience as a Licensed Electrical Inspector with United Energy Limited and the State Electricity Commission of Victoria until privatisation of the electricity supply industry.

Ray also has significant experience with the investigation and reporting of electrical incidents, inspection and auditing of complex LV and HV electrical installations to ensure compliance with relevant Australian Standards and Regulatory requirements in addition to the auditing of Non-prescribed electrical work for Energy Safe Victoria. Ray has also undertaken technical field audits of selected metering sites on behalf of Distribution Companies to obtain field based metering information and review metering installation practices.

With over 30 years’ experience as an Electrical Inspector, combined with his project and business management background, Ray is responsible for the overall quality of the work inspector‘s undertake.

General Manager – Nick Foley

Nick has worked in the utility service industry for the last 18 years. Nick has managed and overseen major contracts and clients within the utilities industry and before joining TechSafe in February 2013 was most recently a General Manger at Service Stream who also delivers services for major Electrical Distribution Network clients.

As well as overseeing a number of large and diverse operations, Nick has been and continues to be involved with the development of new project areas and the implementation of Quality, HS&E and IT systems, as well as gaining accreditations with regulatory bodies including AEMO. With TechSafe It is Nick’s responsibility to implement new services and projects, to continue our growth and to ultimately ensure all operations meet client expectations and comply with all Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental Procedures

Manager Compliance & Technical Services - Damien Aile

Damien has managed Compliance, Technical and Project services of TechSafe Australia’s business operations for the past 15 years. Damien has more than 30 years’ experience in the electricity supply industry, including 25 years’ experience as a Licensed Electrical Inspector with the State Electricity Commission of Victoria until privatisation of the electricity supply industry.


Damien’s current responsibilities include the provision of electrical consulting services, the development and delivery of specialised training programs to the electrical industry and the inspection and auditing of complex electrical installations to ensure compliance with relevant Regulations and Standards. Damien has also project managed and undertaken technical field audits on behalf of the Australian Electricity Market Operator (AEMO), inclusive of MPB desk audits, work practices, field visits to selected metering sites to ensure compliance with NER’s and the review of metering installation practices.


Having provided technical and compliance advice to the trade and undertaken technical and field audits over many years, Damien is well versed in regulatory and compliance requirements. He provides another level of technical support for any queries from the field or clients and is involved along with Ray and Nick in all workgroup meetings and training of the LEI’s. Damien also jointly manages the training, authorisations and Occupational Health and Safety procedural requirements to ensure strict adherence to safe work practices in accord with our contractual requirements.

The above team has been able to successfully deliver a number of projects over the years, driving the successful growth of the TechSafe business. We have continued to improve the delivery of our services during this period, with a focus remaining on safety and quality first as we continue to bring new projects on board.
