GPG Queanbeyan Battery Energy Storage System Plant

The GPG Queanbeyan Battery Energy Storage System is located at the Queanbeyan Transgrid substation, which facilitates the 66kV connection to the ACT power grid. The system has a storage capacity of 20MWh.

TechSafe Australia were engaged to provide independent certification services, requiring detailed reviews of the Regulatory Plan, design documents, earthing, signage/labelling, HV substations and yards and all associated wiring & control systems. Our inspector conducted verification of HV testing, earth grid verification, plant operation procedures, all required documentation and site inspection services. All inspections were conducted to confirm compliance with AS/NZS 3000, AS/NZS 3008, AS 2067, AS 4777 and AS/NZS 5139. Techsafe Australia’s inspector assisted our client in navigating the requirements of the state regulator, and the site was provided an Operating Certificate by the Utilities Technical Regulator in 2022.
